We also provide a value added corrective and preventive maintenance plan for our
clients to prevent the equipment from experiencing major damage or stoppages. This
increases the longevity of the equipment, as well as, reduces the costs of an outage
due to replacing equipment multiple times during it's life.

Encoders
Encoders are divided in two major categories: incremental or absolute. The incremental encoder,
sometimes called a relative encoder, is simpler in design than the absolute encoder. They target
speed and rotation, not enabling the registration positioning of the rotor.
An absolute encoder, on the other hand, can register positions, speed and rotation, thus being more
applicable in application requireing more accuracy, whenever positioning must be registered
for example in robotics.
Flateck performs maintenance on all types of encoders available on the market today,
both in the electronic circuit and the mechanic phase. We also take preventive measures,
such as the replacement of bearings preserving the disc.
Resolvers
In typical applications, the resolver sensor feeds rotary position data to a decoder stationed in
a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that interprets this information and executes commands
based on the machines' position.
Flateck provides repair services of electro-mechanic and electronic resolvers used in industrial servo
motors.
PLCs
The PLC (Programmical Logic Controller) is the most frequently used piece of equipment
in any industrial automation deployment. Flateck offers full technical assistance

Omron, Weg, Altus, Atos and ABB.
IHMs
The IHM ("Interface Homme Machine" or "Man-machine Interface") is often used by
industrial industries to convert low rate language into images and operator's commands
to start the various equipment. IHMs consists of a CPU, a display (liquid crystal
or image tube) and one type of keyboard (common, membrane or touch screen).
Flateck performs the maintenance of various types of IHMs, providing full analysis
of micro-processed CPU circuits, as well as, the repair and replacement of the display
or tube, and keyboard assembly. We also provide development, backup, download and

It monitors feedback signals from the motor and continually adjusts for deviation
from expected behavior.
Flateck carries out repairs of servo drives, covering the various types of electronic
circuits (power, source, control). The electronic technology found in servo drives
are micro-processors, which work together with a servo drive to assist in starting
the power system, and the processing of data sent by the feedback.
Servo Motors
Industrial automation is the use of control systems to control industrial machinery and
processes, replacing human operators with electrical machinery.
Flateck has developed breakthrough technical solutions to carry out the maintenance of
servo motors, comprising repairs in electrical feedbacks (encoders, resolvers and taco-generators),
electrical starters and cables, mechanical parts (bearings, axles, coverings, alignments,
balancing and mills) and magnetic repairs (magnetized rotors).
We take special care, when reparing all servo motors, to ensure the motor is functioning properly.
Flateck also provides repair services in pace and CC motors.
Pace Motors
Pace motors are used to produce accurate movements in various industrial applications, at
lower costs than those of servo motors. Because of their magnetized rotors, we recommend that
clients do not disassemble them; otherwise, about 40% of their magnetic power may be lost
at the moment the rotor is detached from the starter.
Flateck provides repairs of any type of pace motor, regardless of their angular accuracy,
power, manufacturer or tension.
Special Motors
Due to a wide range of industrial machinery, there are numerous types of
special motors that have been designed for specific manufacturing purposes.
Flateck's expert engineering teams have developed patented technology to repair any motor that
is or has been on the market, refurbishing it back to it's original state.
Tachogenerators
Tachogenerators are electro-mechanic elements used to inform rotation speed,
generating a continuous tension proportional to the rotation.
In view of technical constraints, tachogenerators are being replaced by electronic
encoders.
Flateck provides full-service repair of tachogenerators, including brush replacement,
rewinding and mechanic maintenance.
Magnetic Rotors
Current servo motors often contain magnetized rotors to boost torque produced by
various electrical machines. As such, these rotors become heated due to friction, and the magnetic
power of the rotor is reduced requiring the rotor to be remagnetized in order to
restore it to normal operation.
Flateck provides the magnetization and restoration of magnetic rotors mechanically damaged,
by replacing all magnets.
Power Modules
The wide range of electro-mechanic equipment utilized by industrial plants has formed
the need for specific electronic power modules that control various electronic equipment,
such as, pace motors, servo valves, and pneumatic valves.
Flateck has developed a differentiated method to repair the various power modules
adopted by the market, such as, IGBTs, Tiristores, Transistors, Triacs, Mosfets,
as well as, methods for efficient and reliable testing.

Control Modules
Control modules keep track of minor processes, which enable the concentration of
almost all the necessary automation in a single module. They encompass a maximum
of two microprocessors, capable of monitoring a minor dedicated industrial process,
and a small amount of software, which prevents users from performing alterations.
Flateck utilizes all available means to avoid any loss of programming and functionality
to the module. We are able to restore control module of any brand or manufacturer,
making use of the same patented repair technology developed by our engineers in
our test labs.

Software
The advances of industrial automation technologies have lead to the insertion, in

Thermography
In nature, any heated body sends out infrared rays. Thermography comprises the study
of the temperature of these bodies through the infrared rays that are sent out. A thermographic
chamber sensitive to infrared rays decodes the image in colors that stand for different
temperatures, thus enabling the identification of the areas posing undue temperatures.
The strict monitoring and early depiction of alterations in the temperature of a
given component, for example overloading of the equipment, help prevent
stoppages of the machinary resulting in the subsequent loss in productivity.

Preventive Maintenance
Preventive maintenance encompasses the replacement of parts prior to its' end-of-life date.
This avoids stoppages of the machinary and any subsequent losses in productivity and
increased maintenance costs.
Flateck performs the analysis of electro-electronic
equipment and industrial panels, aiming for the early identification of parts and
components that might malfunction, especially where these parts are under
intense utilization. Timely replacement of potentially risky parts extends the lifetime
of the equipment and reduces chances of stoppage.
For servo motors, we provide the replacement of bearings, starters, rotor alignment and balancing
(Warning: We recommend NOT disassembling servo motors to avoid loss of synchronization.)
For electrical panels, we check for parts exposed to intense utilization, such as,
contactors, circuit breakers, fuses, wire clamps, etc.
